Charity Facts
The trust was set up in 1992
by Manuel Reynaga to assist orphaned children
and families whose circumstances had been so adversely
affected by the years of civil war and the collapse
of the Peruvian economy. Since then the work has
been extended to help the children as they get older
by providing vocational training that will help
them get jobs to support themselves and their families.
The charity is registered with the UK Charity
commission (1063976)
The Charity is funded enitrely from voluntary
contributions from individuals or small groups of
individuals. The Charity seeks to ensure that as
much as possible goes directly to help the children
and young people - keeping administration costs
to an absolute minimum.
The Annual Income (and therefore expenditure)
averages around £85,000 in recent years. This covers
the support of the children and the workers that
help them. More financial information can be found
on the Charity
Commission website.
The Peru Children's Trust has virtually
zero overheads in terms of admin. The expenditure
of the trust is outlined below. All costs (including
'other') are spent in Peru.
